Norman C. Powell is licensed Florida Supreme Court Certified Civil Mediator. Mediation is a voluntary and confidential process or resolving disputes with the assistance of a neutral party. The mediator, unlike a judge or an arbitrator, assists in reaching a solution to disputes. The process is designed to explore options in order to find a solution that works for everyone. Everything discussed at mediation is confidential. Mediation is often required prior to trial in Florida. When an agreement is reached with an opposing party through mediation it can be made legally binding by drafting the agreement in the form of an enforceable contract, and made part of a court order.
